Katie Childers, Director of State and Local Government Affairs
Katie Childers is responsible for government relations on the state and local level for the eleven Southeastern states, including Georgia, Florida, Texas and North Carolina. Katie came to Delta from Piedmont Healthcare, where she was the Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs, working with the state legislature, Executive branch and state agencies. She also previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Healthcare Policy advisor to former Georgia Governor Nathan Deal for eight years.
An Athens, Georgia native, she is a graduate of the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia and earned her master’s in business administration from Georgia Southern University. Childers is honored to be a part of the UGA 40 Under 40 Class of 2016 and Georgia Southern’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2018. She is also a member of the Leadership Georgia Class of 2018. She and her husband, Will, have two sons, William and Watts, and live in Morningside neighborhood of Atlanta. They are members of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, where Katie has served on the Administrative Board and taught the Pre-K Sunday School class.
